Proof of Concept or POC as it is known is the realization of an idea or method in order to demonstrate its viability or feasibility.

POC means moving past the drawing board and testing the concept in the real world to determine whether or not it will fly.

POC is therefore a crucial part of the commercialization process. It is vital that POC is achieved before too many resources are commiteted to the product or project in question.
